園名の中にFull Moonが含まれているので、お月見会はその意味でも大切な行事だと思っています。
昔は各家庭でお団子を作ってススキや秋の植物、秋に収穫できる野菜や木の実をお供えして満月を楽しんでいました。その雰囲気を子どもたちに味わってもらうために会場に園旗を飾り、いろいろなものを供えました。
始めに、お月様についてのお話をきき、その後はお月様に見立てたボールなどを使ってみんなで遊びました。
昼間は曇っていましたが、夜には雲が少なくなりきれいなお月様が見えました。翌日「お月さまみたよ」「ウサギの模様がわかったよ」と話をしてくれた子どもが多くいました。

In the old days, each family would make dumplings and make offerings of silver grass, autumn plants, autumn vegetables, and nuts to enjoy the full moon. To give children a taste of this atmosphere, we decorated the venue with garden flags and offered a variety of items.
First, we listened to a story about the moon, and then everyone played with balls and other objects that looked like the moon.
It was cloudy during the day, but by night the clouds had thinned out and a beautiful moon could be seen. The next day, many children told us “I saw the moon” and “I recognized the pattern of the rabbit.
